Stage 5 of the wwd&s CB550 Custom Motorcycle project with E3 is finished as we’re starting to put it all together. Suspension, the forks and brakes find their way back onto the frame as the new old bike takes shape.
The year is 1997 and everyone had a grunge band. Including us. Including an extremely talented drummer who walked off a heroin cliff, a bass player who would rather have been playing in his “Slayer” metal side project. And a singer who did his best to sound like Eddy Vedder.
Dan Gearity just designed these awesome looking packages for a project he’s got going called Brewklyn Grind. Local artists in Brooklyn were tapped for the artwork.
May 2006. Pre-Phyllis. Flush with fifteen thousand bucks in our pockets from the NYC Bikes account, we took the leap, got office space in midtown and hired our first employee, Dan Gearity (well, he was an intern at the time).
Recently, WWD&S Partner Phyllis Dealy, joined David Droga, Ian Schafer of Deep Focus and Benjamin Palmer of Barbarian Group to discuss the agony and ecstasy, ins and outs of starting an Ad Agency in this lead story on Digiday.

Stage 2 of our Honda CB550 Winter Project was all about cleaning house, opening up that beautiful in-line 4 cylinder powerplant and getting the frame and parts ready for powder coating.
When it came time to prop out today’s Cuddl Duds photo shoot, it was a no-brainer to go for Brooklyn built Papillionaire bikes. And when it came time to send them back to the prop house, we just couldn’t. Enjoy ladies!
Here’s the step-by-step, blow-by-blow video of the tear down stage of our WWD&S CB550 Custom project. It went smoove and as planned, taking about 5 hours and 3 pots of coffee.
A meme of sorts has emerged over the years around WWD&S Partner, Creative Director and Legend Gill Witt during our many social-type outings. It goes something like this…
